You lay awake at night thinking of all the ways to keep your family safe, and so do the designers at Toyota. Because of this, the 2016 Highlander comes standard with a backup camera8, so you can see bikes left at the end of your driveway or vehicles behind you as you reverse from a tight parking spot. For assistance when changing lanes, the available Blind Spot Monitor9 provides a visual warning on the corresponding side mirror when a vehicle is outside your line of sight. There is also the available Lane Departure Alert10 should you unintentionally drift from your current lane without signaling. Plus, with the Advanced Airbag System11, you are protected if a collision occurs.

Depending on your performance needs, the Toyota Highlander has one of two engines for you to choose from. The efficient 2.7L 4-cylinder engine choice delivers 185 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, while also having a fuel rating of 20/25 MPG city/hwy12. When you choose the 3.5L V6 powertrain, you’ll have more thrills with 270 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. This choice is efficient, too, with a rating of 19/25 MPG city/hwy12. And, for when your morning commute is icy from a recent snow storm, take advantage of available Dynamic Torque-Control AWD for enhanced traction.
